Adapt. Learn. Achieve. My husband and I are shown at the top of Mount Haleakalā, or the East Maui Volcano, a massive shield volcano that forms more than 75% of the Hawaiian Island of Maui. The bicycle ride begins at the top of the crater with a beautiful sunrise in zero to 35-degree weather and because visibility is impacted due to sharp curves and dense fog (clouds at 10,000+ feet) you must maintain a 30-foot distance from the person in front of you for safety. As you progress down the 38 miles to the bottom, you adapt.
The person in front of you disappears into the clouds. You learn that you do not even have to peddle as you take in all the curves, some dangerously sharp and steep, requiring brakes almost constantly (even changing out your bikes when the brakes go out), spotting your fellow bikers further down through the clouds on a lower section of the narrow two-lane road, the beautiful scenic vistas and as you go, you slowly remove layers of clothing because at the bottom, the temperature has reached a balmy 75 degrees.
The experience you achieve is both thrilling and fun – much like the projects undertaken by D.A.T.Administration. As we go through a project, we may need to brake, change direction, draw on the knowledge of more team members, begin to peel back the layers until we reach a dynamic, creative and collaborative solution or process that works best for you and your business. The end result is not always what you had in mind. Much like the 3:00 a.m. bike ride that begins in the dark, things look much different and more exciting than expected when the ride is over.
Proverbs 4:26 Ponder the path of thy feet, and let all thy ways be established.
